Today we are getting to know wildlife and nature photographer Mark Edell. He is 44 and lives in Allyn, Washington State.

Mark, Can you tell us a little about who you are and what you do?
I am a general contractor by trade hoping to slip into semi retirement within the next six years by using my photography and woodworking as supplemental income.
I started out like most photographers, just a shutter bug. I enjoyed taking my small point and shoot out with me when I went on walks and hikes or out camping. I soon found myself buying a professional DLSR and all those expensive lenses.
I started sharing some of my photography online with family and friends and then in various photography sites and forums including Digital Grin, National Geographic and FredMiranda.
Where can we find you online?
At my website Mark Edell at my Etsy Shop and at Facebook.
What are you working on at the moment?
Keepsake boxes. The boxes are made out of either cedar or black walnut. I am inlaying one of the photographs that I have taken right into the lid of the box and then I coat the whole thing with ten coats of lacquer for a deep shine.
What’s your favorite photograph, that you have captured?
It has to be my “pair of eagles” you simply do not get a shot like this every day. I found the two Eagle friends sitting on a fence post in a farmers field.
What are you doing when you’re not behind the camera?
I am an avid hiker. I like climbing mountains and staying in shape. Of course, I always have my camera with me.
What is your favorite…
Color? Blue – Animal? Dog – Season? Summer
Movie? Star Trek – Book? The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin
What are 3 items that you love from other Etsy sellers?

Hand Carved Maple Leaf by David Scott – King of the Mountain by Jim Guy – Sycamore Suncatcher by Oriskany Glass
